Free Download Roxio Creator 2012
Hi Tom, This issue might be caused due to compatibility of the program. Try to install the program using compatibility for earlier operating system and check if it helps. To know more about installing program using compatibility, refer to the below link: Note: This article is designed for Windows 8/8.1, use it as a reference. Hope this information helps, for further assistance please reply. I have Roxio NXT I installed with Compatable version it still crashes I get almost finished and Windows closes it down. Corel said Windows 10 hadn't updated their drivers for later programs.
Roxio, an American software company, specializes in developing consumer digital media products. Its product line includes tools for setting up digital media projects.
Hello Bekki, Don't be surprised, there isn't one. To quote Robert Heinlein, 'TANSTAFL' (There ain't no such thing as a free lunch) I believe Corel (the current owners of the Roxio brand) do not allow the free download and use of any versions of Creator. In an Internet search for free downloads for Creator 2012 I found a number of sites that offered a free download of Creator 2012. Here's the results from the first page of them. Offered free download, but redirected me to Corel's advert for Creator NXT 5. GetIntoPC - providing a 1.8 GB download which will take 3 hrs at the speed they're feeding it to me.
I'll come back later with a result from this. Afreecodec - Offered the download, but no download link. You just get to see the adverts on their site. A2Zcrack - Downloaded an evil little 4.4 MB executable instead of Creator. I'll run that in a sandbox later, but I don't trust it and neither should you.
Softonic - Offered the free download, but then invited me to pay now and receive the software by email later. Downloadsx - Offered the download, but linked instead to a commercial PC Repair 'utility' Informer.com - Offered the download, but then sent me to Corel's NXT 5 page Download.com - Offered the download, but sent me to Corel. I'll come back later with the result from the GetintoPC download once/if it completes. Regards, Brendon. Thank you for your thorough search!
The download I was considering was getintopc.com. I was concerned it was a scam or worse a virus. You showed me it is indeed a scam. You're right about there being no free lunch, but I was hoping it would at least be a free trial so I could see if it worked with Windows 10 and if it opened up previous productions I made with Creator 2010. Do you recommend Creator 2012 over NXT 4 Pro? I liked Creator 2010 even though I had technical difficulties with it. I'm looking for the closest program to it since I've learned how to use 2010 (I'm definitely NOT a digital guru) and I'm hopeful that it will open up the productions I made with Creator 2010.
I didn't know to output what I made in Advanced Editing and MyDVD. Thanks for your search and for your feedback! I really appreciate your guidance and help. Thank you for your thorough search! The download I was considering was getintopc.com.

Bekki Creator 2012 would be a better suite than NXT 4 Pro, although Roxio was NEVER good at backwards compatibility, so I don't know if your Creator 2010 projects would open properly in Creator 2012.
It is always best to finish your projects in the suite that they were started in. That is a moot point for you now, unless you can load Creator 2010 on an older computer and then finish your projects. Thank you for your thorough search!

Hi Bekki, Please excuse the delay, I'm in a different time zone. That download was a mess when it finally finished, with loads of empty folders and files in the wrong places - and no key. A waste of time and bandwidth. I prefer Creator 2012 to any of the versions which have followed it.(NXT 5 is now the latest) I have Creator 2012 Pro working in Windows 10, and so far it doesn't seem to be having any issues. Can you tell me please what is the file format of the work you have saved from Creator 2010?
(If the file is 'filename.xxxx' what is extension where I've put xxxx?) Did you save them from MyDVD? Since I also have Creator 2010 on a drive, sometime today I will go save something from C2010 and see if I can load it back into C2012 for you. Regards, Brendon. Thank you for your help! I looked up the type of file and it said Roxio MyDVD Project (.dmsd). Is that the information you needed?
I was trying to figure out if I should output my project to a different file format, but I'm not sure if that is correct to do or how that would help me. I want to be able to open the many projects I've made with Creator 2010 if I want to revise or reburn them. I did save them from MyDVD. I called the company who sells the upgrades and asked if I could open Creator 2010 projects with upgraded versions and they said yes, but I'm a little hesitant to believe what they told me because they said yes to all of my questions. I think I'd prefer Creator 2012 to NXT 5 because I want something that is similar to 2010 since I know how to use that program. Of course, finding where to buy that program will be tough! It's not readily available.
I also tried to run Creator 2010 under the compatibility mode with Windows 10. I changed the compatibility setting to Windows 7 for Roxio since that is what I had when Roxio ran just fine, but it didn't work. The program would run for about a minute and then the message 'Videowave 12 has stopped working' would still pop up and Roxio shut down. That keeps happening no matter what I do to troubleshoot. It's frustrating for me because I'm not a digital guru and lack the technical knowledge to know how to fix glitches. Fortunately, this forum has members who know quite a bit more than I do!
Again, thanks for taking the time to try various things to help me. That is so thoughtful! Yes, I understand that it has no movie files in it because I've had issues where I've changed the pathway and it couldn't find the movie files. I didn't know to output the movies I've made and honestly don't really understand what that means. After I made a production in Videowave, I sent it to MyDVD and thought that was the proper way to save it.
Now I realize I might not be able to open years and years of movies I made of my daughters and I'm getting frustrated and truthfully, teary. I just don't have enough knowledge to understand the best next steps of how to solve my problem.
I'm thinking the best bet is to buy Creator 2012 pro and pray it opens what I created in the past. Am I able to output my movies now and save them properly for future use? Am I understanding correctly that I won't have a menu or anything on those movies (since MyDVD added that), but I'll have the video segments, title slides, and transitions?
I just don't understand why Creator 2010 worked fine when I got this computer that was loaded with Windows 10. I opened and burned a production I had in MyDVD without a problem. The program didn't close down or hang up or anything.
I'm concerned that Creator 2012 will close down in videowave like Creator 2010 and I'll have wasted my money, but it's a risk I'll take. I apologize for my lack of technical knowledge. Hello Bekki, I'm back. I ran Creator 2010 and made a very simple project in Videowave. Just two short clips with a transition in between. I then sent the project to MyDVD, and saved the project.
I then booted on a different drive with Creator 2012 installed. I made sure my source video clips were available on the same path as before, started MyDVD (2012), and opened the.dmsm project file from Creator 2010. IT WORKED, and I was able to create an.ISO file or disk image, and to burn a DVD which worked properly.
Even the original transition was there. So it looks as though C2012 will open C2010's saved project files, as long as the source clips are still available on the same path. It also appears that you should still have the transitions too, as long as C2012 hasn't dropped any.
I don't think it will have dropped things, as C2012 was made in the days of 'making Roxio better'. There are lots of things that Microsoft has done differently in Windows 10, and C2010 probably ran until it bumped into one of the new Microsoft things, then tripped and fell on its nose. I don't know what tripped it - neither Corel nor Microsoft tell us their 'trade secrets'. Please don't apologize for your lack of tech expertise. We are all born knowing nothing and have to build on that. (except my granddaughter aged 4 who shows me how to use a smartphone) I've sent you a private message [PM] suggesting places you might be able to buy a used Creator 2012. Please go to the top, right corner of the forum page and look for an envelope icon.
Click on it to receive the message. Regards, Brendon. It's GREAT news that Creator 2012 opened the project you made in Creator 2010! I do use transitions between new video topics, but nothing out of the ordinary so like you said, hopefully they all will be available in the new program.
Thank you so much for running that test for me. It really warms my heart that people like you are out there take the time to do acts of kindness like that. Also - thank you for understanding my lack of digital knowledge. I fall into the category of knowing 'just enough to be dangerous.' I get myself into all kinds of situations because I know just enough to try new things, but then can't figure out how to fix problems when something goes wrong.
Thank goodness for the forums because usually I can find my answer by reading through them. As for Windows 10 - that is a mystery and I haven't been overly thrilled with it. Creates problems for me, but I use it at work and it made sense to have it compatible at home. I'm going to get Creator 2012 and then I'll update my post to let everyone who's helped me out know if the program works on my computer and if I can open all of the home movies (filled with video clips only a mother will want to watch) that I made over the years. Thanks again!
