Follow On: Miss India is the story of a Middle Class girl, from a small town, who accepts the challenge of circum-stance around her. She steps out of her simple world not only to conquer the world of glamour but goes on to win the title of 'Miss India'. The central character Suhani, comes with her mother from a place near Allahabad to Mumbai to stay with her brother. Rajiv Sahay who is a successful business-man in the world of glamour Suhani and her mother are very happy at Rajiv’s success, but they come to know that behind this success is the hand of Rajiv’s wife Sanjana Gujaral infact all the business is of Sanjana and Rajiv is a 'Ghar Jamai'. Sanjana is not too pleased with the arrival of Suhani and her mother to their house, whereas they think it is their right, as their Allahabad house has been sold off and they have now where else to go. One day Sanjana reveals to them the truth that this house and all is hers. She forces them to leave her house.
Rajiv is helpless. Suhani and mother feel insulted and leave the house. Suhani decides to make an identify of her own, staying in the city. Lqbal Baba, comes to their help and invites them to stay in his °Chawr. Raja, the `Tapori’ of the place, be friends Suhani and helps her in getting a job. Suhani gets a good job in 'Unicorn Media Group' and their life moves on smooth note. Rajiv regrets the leaving of his house by Suhani and his mother and decides to go and stay with them only, leaving all his riches behind.
Sanjana is upset at Rajiv’s decision and plots to get Suhani out of her way. The bullet meant for Suhani, hits Rajiv by Mistake. Afraid that her secret will be out, Sanjana blocks the slow of oxygen given to Rajiv in the hospital and kills him. When Suhani comes to know of the truth, she gets fired up but has no proof with her. She is determined to ruin Sanjana. To fulfill her mission Suhani becomes a part of the fashion world and decides to contest the Miss India title.
